FAQ
The questions we are asked most, with a short answer and the page that goes further. If yours is not here, see Troubleshooting or write to support.
Offer and pricing
How much does Bastide cost?
Pricing is per project per month, excluding VAT: Discovery €7, Standard €25, Pro €79, Sovereign from €490 on quotation. Seats are not charged: invite as many members as you like. See Billing.
Is the beta paid?
No. The beta is free and asks for no payment method. If a paid offer follows, you will be told at least thirty days in advance, and nothing will be charged without your written agreement.
Is there a free offer?
Yes: every verified person has one free project for life, on top of their paid projects. It sleeps after fifteen minutes without a visit and has its own limits (500 MB of database, 1 GB of object storage, 100 build minutes and 100 emails per month). See Create a project.
Are there discounts?
Yes. From 5 to 99 active projects, a 20% discount applies automatically to all your projects; from 100 projects, 25% on quotation. Paid a year in advance, a project gets two months free, on top of the volume discount; the annual commitment is still requested through support. See Billing.
Can I overspend by mistake?
An organization has a monthly spending cap, set to €500 when it is created. A tier upgrade that would exceed it is refused, and raising it needs the agreement of two people. See Billing.
What happens when I reach a limit of my tier?
Every published limit says what happens beyond it. A tier upgrade that would exceed the spending cap is refused; at the edge, every refusal is an HTTP response that names the limit, never a silent cut. See Limits.
Sovereignty and data
Where is my data hosted?
In France. During the beta, the platform runs on OVHcloud servers in France, backups included; the platform's emails go through Scaleway, in France. The list of sub-processors is public at https://console.bastide.app/sous-traitants. See Sovereignty.
Who operates Bastide?
Glowsoft SAS, a French company headquartered in Nevers. The data processing agreement under Article 28 of the GDPR is part of the terms, and any change of sub-processor is announced thirty days in advance.
Does my data leave the European Union?
Not in the default configuration. A transfer only arises from a service you connect yourself: GitHub (a US company) for your source code, or the identity provider you enable for your users. See Sovereignty.
Can Glowsoft read my data?
Not without your agreement. Glowsoft's access to a project's data goes through a request you accept or refuse, in the project's Réglages (Settings), "Accès" (Access) section. Once accepted, it lasts eight hours at most, every action by the operator is written to the project's audit log in their name, and you can revoke it at any time. See Security.
Leaving
Can I leave, and take my data with me?
Yes, free of charge and without conditions. The exit archive contains the code, the database (schema and data), storage, users, configuration, encrypted secrets and logs, in open formats. During the beta, it is requested through support. See Leave Bastide.
Is my code locked in?
No. Your code stays in your Git repository; Bastide reads it to build it. Your application keeps supabase-js if it uses it, and the database is ordinary PostgreSQL that pg_dump exports.
Agents
Which agents can operate Bastide?
Any MCP client: Claude Code, and any agent that speaks MCP over HTTP. The server is https://mcp.bastide.app/mcp. See MCP.
Can an agent delete my production or commit spending?
No. An agent can request a project's deletion, but an Owner must approve it, then twenty-four hours of grace and thirty days of trash follow. An agent does not choose the tier and does not change billing. Sensitive actions need your approval, then can be undone for five minutes. See Agent safety.
How many projects can an agent create?
Five per rolling day, through agents. A project created by an agent is switched off after seven days unless someone claims it from the console. See Create a project.
How do I revoke an agent's access?
Compte (Account), "Clients MCP autorisés" (Authorised MCP clients) section: remove the client, and its tokens fail on the next call. A personal token is revoked in the "Vos jetons" (Your tokens) section. See Account.
Technical
Which frameworks are recognised?
Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, React Router (formerly Remix), Vite, static sites and Node.js, plus Python and Go. A repository with a Dockerfile is built from it. See Frameworks.
Do I need a configuration file?
No. The framework, the build command and the output directory are detected in the repository. A configuration file is only needed to correct detection or to declare routes. See Builds.
Are my applications fast everywhere in the world?
Bastide is not a global content delivery network: your applications run in France, and visitors far from Europe get the latency of the distance. See Cache.
What are the limits of a request?
A request body of 100 MB by default, a complete response within 300 seconds, a long-lived connection (WebSocket) of 60 minutes, among others. Every refusal is an HTTP response that names the limit. See Limits.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, in Domaines (Domains), with a certificate obtained for you. The number of domains depends on the tier. See Domains.
Bastide and other platforms
How is it different from Vercel?
Bastide hosts in France, under a French company, and provides the backend (PostgreSQL database, authentication, storage, realtime) with every project. Pricing is per project, not per seat, and runtime logs are kept for 7 to 365 days depending on the tier. On the other hand, Bastide does not run your code at the edge around the world. See Migrate from Vercel.
How is it different from Supabase?
Bastide's backend speaks the supabase-js protocol: your application changes the project's address and key. Bastide also hosts the application itself, not just its database. A few features are not served, such as SAML sign-in, the S3-compatible endpoint and listening to postgres_changes; the quantified list is public at https://bastide.app/limites-supabase. See Migrate from Supabase.
Can I migrate from my own server?
Yes, if your application lives in a Git repository and builds with a recognised framework or a Dockerfile. See Migrate from a server.
Account and support
I have lost my password or my second factor.
Below the Connexion (Sign in) form, "Mot de passe ou second facteur perdu ?" (Lost password or second factor?) sends a link valid for one hour. Losing both at once goes through support. See Account.
How do I get help?
During the beta, write to the address given at the foot of your invitation email: a person will reply. At commercial launch, support follows the tier: documentation and forum on Discovery, ticket and email on Standard, phone on Pro, a named contact on Sovereign.
Can I host a critical application?
Not during the beta: it makes no availability commitment. Do not store health data, banking data, or personal data whose loss would make you liable to others. See Acceptable use.
